The Austin Healey MK 3000 is a car that we ourselves value very highly. The basics of car enthusiasm; in front a big 2.9 liter 6-in-line engine with about 150 British horses, rear wheel drive, nice and stiff and a large steering wheel. Between 1959 and 1967 Austin made 36,816 Healeys; the Mark I, Mark II and the one we welcomed to our clubhouse, the Mark III. The Mark I’s body was made by Jensen Motors and the assembly by BMC. Of the Mark III, 17,712 eventually rolled off the assembly line. Unfortunately, thanks to the birth of another British icon, the Mini, production ceased in 1968. Our Healey is a specimen that can be described as “in mint condition”. The MK3000 has been owned for 18 years by the last owner, who besides the hobby of driving, clearly also had a hobby of cleaning! Under the hood she shines just as beautiful as on the outside.
