Specifications
A very rare pre-war French car. This Licorne is equipped with 4 gearbox, magnet ignition and 6 volt electrical installation.
This Licorne came from Belgium in 1971 to the Netherlands and the current owner has owned this car since 1978. Until today, it was regularly driven. It is a very reliable oldtimer. Some time ago the Licorne has been fully restored and there is no woodworm in it!La Licorne originated in 1907 from an acquisition of the manufacturer Corre. Corre was a former cyclist and in 1895 introduced a bicycle with an aluminum frame and participated in the Tour de France.A racing car built in collaboration with the Brothers Lestienne under the name Licorne participated in the first Le Mans in 1906. In 1907 the factory was sold to Lestienne and since the family coat of arms contained a unicorn (Licorne) the cars were given this name. Around 33,000 cars were built until 1949. They were equipped with various engines, including: Dion Bouton, Ballot and SCAP. After 1927 they were provided with their own engines. In 1949 the factory was sold to Renault and the machines to Bugatti.
A Licorne is nowadays a very rare car and in the Netherlands there are still 4 driving around.
