Aston Martin DB9
Specifications
More lovable, more rounded than a Bentley Continental GT. Drives better than a Ferrari 575. Less expensive then all it’s rivals. A real, fabulous, magnificent; Aston Martin. – Jeremy Clarkson
This 2+2 grand tourer by Aston Martin was groundbreaking. Innovative in all sorts of directions. Marek Reichman, design director at Aston Martin, has thought about every detail. Enjoying this car starts when you grab the glass key from the table in your English country house. You can see that it is not just any key, but a beautifully designed designer piece with cut glass and brushed aluminium. When you get your hands on the key it immediately gives a sense of ownership, in your head the theme song of the Champions League starts playing. You get in, and push this key into the beautiful wooden dashboard, and when you push it again you become pleasantly overwhelmed by the roaring sound of the 6.0 V12. You giggle a little, and are slightly tense. The car feels like transport for a gentleman, but when you get on higher revs you unleash a bloodthirsty English tiger. Pure emotion is evoked by a balance between power, performance and chic elegance. You look at the centre console and see that the car is manual, everything falls into place, you want to become one with the car. After half an hour of driving you know for sure; you have had the honour of driving in an icon. You have driven a timeless Aston Martin DB.
Originally the Swedish delivered car has been with the same owner for 11 years. After that, the car was spoiled for two years by a Dutch enthusiast, who always let the car sleep inside. This can be seen by the immaculate paint in the rare Stratus White. The car has run so little during that time, that you can be sure that this classic car will last a very long time. Power, beauty and soul come together in a sculpture of car passion. We challenge you to drive the Aston Martin and then fall in love. It is definitely a collector’s item because of the low mileage, and it is a manual. Say no more. Will we see you soon?
