Jaguar XK 140 OTS
Specifications
From the days when British cars were still handmade by men with thick forearms and a gruff face full of soot. The XK140 is the bigger stronger and more comfortable brother of the XK120. The 120 was built with speed as a starting point, the 140 was built for luxury, with the American market in mind. After all, the 140 has more interior space, stronger brakes and thanks to telescopic shock absorbers you have slightly less bum soreness at your night out.
When you park the car at the cafe, of course, you put it with the bum to the back. Then an emblem inlaid with wood shows ‘Winner Le Mans 1951-3’, revealing the state of the white English car. The nice thing about the open two seater (OTS) is that the rear end is neatly curved, and no folded convertible canvas interferes with the beautiful lines of the car.
The Jaguar delighted the US with its splendour until the seventies when it crossed over to our cold country. This beautiful classic has been in the possession of the same Dutch owner since 1989, and what a person that was. Through the years not only the car has been fully restored, but also taken to the Raid Rally and the Lions Rally. Last year the muzzle of the Jag was repainted, but also the carburettors, gearbox, clutch, tyres and brakes were completely overhauled. In addition, the Jaguar XK 140 OTS has been fitted with an aluminium fuel tank, new fuel pump and cylinder head. You can feel all this, the car really drives like new.
