Once again we managed to find a real Cool Classic. A Mercedes 280 SEL W108 4.5 liter eight cylinder in very good condition with a beautiful color combination.

The W108 was in the mid-sixties the successor to the W111 Baureihe and was in turn at the end of the seventies succeeded by the W116 (first official S-class). Only 11,309 units of this 280 SE 3.5 version were eventually built.

Our Weisse W108, apart from its condition (which we describe as excellent), is fully documented. She began life in Palm Springs, California with her first owner George Garcia. 46 years later she came to the Netherlands, where she is still owned by her first Dutch owner. The latter, in turn, provided the Mercedes with a new interior and recently a complete technical check-up.

The important options of the 280SEL are; automatic transmission, power steering, heated rear window, spotlights and armrests both front and rear. We can also say with certainty that the mileage is correct, because in addition to the original title, we also have all U.S. service history. In addition, we have the Mercedes completely checked by our specialist and came to the conclusion that the entire bottom is rust free and almost unrestored!

The V8 engine delivers even for today’s traffic more than enough racehorses (200) and sounds great. Not only the exterior impresses, but also the technique fits seamlessly.
