Rover 10 ‘Special’
Specifications
This Rover 10 ‘special’ came to the Netherlands as a saloon in 1974. Six years ago by Herman ten Velde from Holten converted to Special. Then the car moved to Franeker and was finished there. The current owner bought the special as a project. That was at the end of 2016. He restored the car ‘nut and bolt’ and overhauled it where necessary.
The main job was the engine: All bearings (7 times) were re-cast (white metal), crankshaft was ground and balanced, valves valve guides etc., Then the engine completely rebuilt.
New clutch, gearbox and diff are perfect. New tires, wheels have been re-spoked.
Last may the Tulip Rally drove and finished: Tenth place!
The Rover is ready to compete again! A really nice project and guaranteed driving pleasure.
