The story behind this collectible...

'The world's fastest standard motorcycle. This is a fact not a slogan' - Philip Vincent

The Vincent Black Shadow Series are legendary motorcycles produced in the 1940s and 1950s by Briton Philip Vincent. The Brit himself aimed to be the maker of the world's fastest motorcycles. The pièce de résistance Vincent, the Vincent Black Shadow, was known at the time as the world's first superbike.

The Series A and B were the early variants, but the highlight of the series was the Series C, launched in 1948.

Between the legs lies the V-twin 998cc engine, which at the time was one of the most powerful engines on the market. In its day, the Black Vincent was the fastest motorcycle in the world, with a top speed of the famous 125 mp/h. Taming this powerhouse required daring and skill.

This example comes with an official certificate from the Vincent Owners Club. Coming from a dedicated Dutch motorcycle collector who has put his heart and soul into this motorcycle. With a complete history and five total owners, three of whom were mutually related, this motorcycle represents a valuable showpiece. The original serial numbers are complete.

The Cool Classic Club has delved richly into the rich and fascinating history behind this motorcycle.
